I'm in love and I'm terrified

You hold on to things that were. You wonder what's to come. But that night, I think we knew it was time to let go of what had been, and look ahead of what would be. Other days. New days. Days to come. The thing is, we didn't have to hate each other for getting older. We just had to forgive ourselves for growing up.

She wanted something else, something different, something more. Passion and romance, perhaps. Or maybe a quiet, heartfelt conversation into the wee hours of the night. Or perhaps, something as simple as not being second.

She didn’t know what to do, he’d left her to fend for herself, she would just sit waiting for him to come back and save her, save her from the heartache he’d left when he walked out, but he wasn’t coming back to her, so while she sat waiting for him, the heartache would just get bigger and bigger, like it was never going to heal.
